2008:12:18:23:15. Thursday. ALWAYS BE CENTRISIZING. Barack Obama won't become president for another month, and he's got over 46 months until he'll presumably be up for re-election. He won this year's election by about 53% to 46%. So how in the world can anybody defend the choice of Rick Warren to give the inaugural invocation as a way to "peel off" a few "moderate evangelical" votes? Are we to believe that Obama plans to spend his 2008 transition period campaigning for 2012, and that he plans to lose tens of millions of votes to poor performance or alienation of his existing supporters, so he's out there looking for replacement votes already? I'll be honest, I gave more money to No On Prop 8 ($50) than I did to Obama ($0), and his tendency to do-si-do with the Christian Right is big reason why.
2008:12:13:11:35. Saturday. DEEP THOUGHT. Journalism is listening. Rick Sanchez should shut up and go home. (Also, I have two job offers and will be posting about my future plans and what they might mean for this site soon.)

With the podcast in a lull and needing an occasional distraction from job applications and interviewing, I've decided to jump from a recent discussion at the Isthmus forum and figure out what my favorite song is. Naturally, I'm doing so in a series of head-to-head competitions that I will blog about. You can follow it (and read the longer explanation) here.
